350 swap
Ok so i have an 86 friebird with a 305 tpi system. I bought a 350 TBI out of a 91 GMC Sierra. Im gonna put my 305 fuel injection system onto the 350 engine. I need to know wat all i need to do in order to put this 350 engine into my car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Re: 350 swap
The 305 might have the old style intake pattern, the 91 should have the newer style. Look at the 4 center bolt angles. Old style has them coming out at a 90* angle to the mounting surface, newer ones is like 70*(?) angle, more vertical.
You should probably start w/ some new injectors, for a 350.
Make sure you get a flywheel w/ that 91 motor, oil pan too.

Re: 350 swap
you will need to reprogram the memcal to a 350, $6e mask is the best, 22 #hr injectors from southbayinjectors and keep that 91's flexplate. you can elongate the holes in the intake manifold or get one from a 87-92 tpi. and hope you have a heated garage, its cold in aurora today !!!

The larger injectors are only needed at max demand, and at altitude with a TBI engine, 22's won't be necessary, and the 19's will probably run better, anyway.
'86 is 1-piece rear main seal, like the '91, and the '91 may actually be a 168-tooth and wouldn't work with the '86 starter (not particularly an issue if you have stock exhaust) - just use the starter and flexplate that work together.
