When swapping my 3.1 v6 to a 5.0 v8 i want to remove the wiring harness and clean up the wiring. Could i buy a universal wiring harness like this one?

for a little more money you can get this harness. if you ate just replacing the tbi harness. or buy a used harness as i did and undo it, string it out, and do it your way.

With a carb?
That is a complete body harness (lights etc ),
Only good for a carb engine , has no engine controls if running TBI / TPI

Re: ecm to none ecm
i want to make it carb. I want to remove the older ecm and wiring harness and put in a new one for my v8 carbed engine. No engine control just my lights, door locks, interior light, stereo, etc... would the one i posted be what i am looking for? if not would you mind sending me a like to one? thanks
Re: ecm to none ecm
well if you are going to go carb then just trim yours up some. that would be the most cost effective. and if you unloom and untape yours you can pretty much run it the way you want. and trim out what you dont need.

The wiring for the lights/horn, etc.. are a seperate plug from engine controls, and seperate from ECM wiring. The C100 (Plug by the brake booster) is actually in two pieces and will come off with a 1/4" socket down the center. I thinned out my wiring harness for my t/a, and just left all the lighting harness still ran/hooked up and didnt have to touch it.
I went from this:

To this:

On mine, I decided to keep all AC wiring in-tact because I plan on keeping it, and I am also not running a wire for TCC, so it isnt there either. Run it how you want it, and you'll be fine.

theres a few threads, (one made by pocket inparticular) that shows what all you can trim from the stock harness when swapping to a carbed setup. i used it when doing my first carbed swap.
