NEED HELP!!!

Hi there im really having problems with my project car. i bought a 1989 iroc-z that someone was using as a parts car(first mistake there) they cut a bunch of wires but i replaced the missing wires. i recently bought a 1990 350tpi from a camaro iroc-z i put the motor and engine wiring harness in the car and plugged in the computer. now the problem i am having is the injectors arent firing and its not vats we have ruled that out already. also the wires arent matching up from under the dash of the car to the wires that run to the outside of the car. my question is has any done a similar swap and if so what wires had to be spliced and where they have to go. thanks!!

Re: NEED HELP!!!

did you get the wiring harness and computer from thr 90 350? if not there are difference detween pin locations. check out http://www.austinthirdgen.org/index.php?pid=19 and compare the 2, youll probably have to repin the harness.

Re: NEED HELP!!!

yea i got the harness from the 1990 camaro so all i have to do is repin the harness? the problem is that under the dash on the passenger side there are the injector wires running from the fuse box to a plug that is close to the ecm. i need to figure out where i can splice those wires into the harness so the power can get the injectors.

this is a picture of the plug that the wires from the fuse box run to.

Re: NEED HELP!!!

if you use the 90s computer it will all just plug in without issue. to use the 90s harness with the 89s computer youll have to change pins around on the harness plugs. all those plugs are for is power for the injectors. the 2 pink wires are the switched 12v for the left and right banks and the black is the ground. you can run them to really any spot that has a fused switch 12v source.

Re: NEED HELP!!!

the engine harness should be seperate from the dash harness. if youre using the 89 computer VATS wont be an issue, if you use the 90s computer youll have to either get a VATS bypass box or have it tuned out. the injector wires there just need a fused switched 12v source, since i dont think on the 89 they had a spot on the fuse panel for the injectors. someone with more experince on swapping harnesses between years will probably chime in.

What more do you want?
Which computer are you running?
If you have the 89 computer on the 90 wiring then you have to mods to do because they are completely different control systems; even thought the intakes are the same
