I'm assuming you're saying that the engine hoist is hitting on the nose of the car before the engine is lined up where it needs to go. If that's the case, you have to go in from the side with the hoise. I had to do it with mine.
If you're saying the motor mounts don't line up, you may have flipped them left to right.

Yeah unless you have a long boom hoist, it will hit bumper of car before you get engine all the way back.
Move the hoist to the side of car. Jack up front of car alittle so hoist legs will go under car, and just install engine from the side.

Yep that's a PITA and happens on most of all the long front end cars like camaros, firebirds (second and third gens) , corvettes, the older monte carlos, etc.
Back before I bought an extended boom hoist, I got so fed up with the hoist hitting bumpers, I welded in a length of rectangle tube to make my boom longer as most of the cars I would putting engines in was long front end cars.

I'll admit it; on a couple old hoists I've drilled an extra hole closer to the end of the boom. ( and was always sure to strip the motor bare to 'lighten the load' BEFORE pulling it ! )
