Yeah I saw it. It's a shame they ripped the tpi off of it though and just threw a used engine in it with some nitrous.

Re: Iroc build on detroit muscle
They mentioned having a gen 3 project at the end of last season. I was going to post about it but was a little concerned that the build would be lame and not worth the discussion.
Everything was set to record. I got home and nothing recorded and I can't watch it anywhere else. WHY DO THEY DO THAT?
If all they did was scrap the TPI and put nitrous on it I'll be very disappointed.
Why not build this car the way they've built other cars on the show? Stock rebuild or LS swap, anything else would be a waste of time to me.

Re: Iroc build on detroit muscle
I caught it was disappointed as well. You can catch it starting next Sunday on their website or iPad/iPod app. For those who missed it, the TPI was a 305, and needed a rebuild due to low compression in a couple cylinders. I have no problems with them swapping in a used 350(how many members have done that on here??), but was mad they ditched the TPI for a carb + nitrous. Especially since carb conversions are getting harder and harder to keep street-legal. I haven't watched Detroit Power in a while, and only caught this one cause they had an IROC. I'm just hoping they will give it to Muscle Car for some real work, I like that show a lot more.
Re: Iroc build on detroit muscle
All they got out of it was 294hp WITH a 100 shot!
They ignored wiring completely...didn't even mention it.
Totally disappointed although they do mention a stage 2 and 3 build.

Stage 2 & 3 is probably interior, then suspension.

I saw the one with the interior. So far, not too impressed.

Re: Iroc build on detroit muscle
The interior panels looked like crap after they sprayed them, and the carpet looked like a suit 3 sizes too big. How could they say they didn't have to trim by the sills?
Re: Iroc build on detroit muscle
I caught only part of it on Spike and just watched their web episode. They do indeed take off the TPI and put on the carb. So sad. That was really the only reason I even sat down to watch it.

Re: Iroc build on detroit muscle
Not sure how much you guys who are following that build are actually paying attention to the little details but this build as well as ALL of the builds from these weekend shows are a joke. I catch so many discrepancies that I would decline an offer for one of these shows to mod my car, even if it was for free!!
Here is just one example of the "professional" quality work being done on this IROC. This is top of the rear shock AFTER they tightened the nut down with an impact gun!!!
