Cant decide between zz6 or sp383 base crate
Hi
I would appreciate any help on decideing what would be best choice between a zz6 base crate or a sp383 base crate to run with the satin first tpi intake?. Im also thinking the b&m tubo700 trans as it is advertised at 450 lb/ft. Im replaceing a tired 305 tpi in my 92 camaro and i have a budget of 20k australian dollars so i figure either of those engines with the rest into other parts needed maybe if i have change i can look at the interior.
Any feed back would be a great help as iv been unable to decide for a few months now.

Thanks for your reply. Do you think it would be possible to tune a prom from a 350 to run it or is the painless ez efi a petter option?

One thing I have learned, and have offered this advice to others as well: Figure out how you're gonna tune if BEFORE you spend a dime. If you're gonna have someone do it for you, call them and make SURE they'll tune whatever system you're running. I couldn't find anyone in my area who would tune my stock ECM.

i have thought about that. it is very good advice and i dont think anyone around me can tune the stock system in my camaro. I have been looking into othe options like the painless ez efi or some sort of piggy back set up. Do you have any suggestions as to what works best

I bet you could repin your ECM harness to run the Holden 808 ECM used in your 308s and most likely MANY shops could tune it. 7730 is not much different but I actual prefer the Holden code in the 808 ECMs. The speed density coding in the 808 will run in the US 165 MAF TPI ECMs and I have played with the custom code developed for it ALOT. I would be willing to bet anyone that has played with the 808 can tune a 7730 and vice versa.
