Ravin Exhaust

I was over at Maidas the other day getting my Air Injection Pipes looked over. I noticed that they install Ravin Exhaust and it would be about 275 for my 82 Trans Am.

Anyone have any good or bad experiences with these Exhaust Systems?

Thanks

Ravin Exhaust

MetalliCamaroRS:

Could you describe how it sounds inside and out? I am also thinking about going with Ravin cuz dynomax is just too quiet!
Thanks!

Yeah I have the same question with noise inside and out. The stock exhaust on my 82 sounds great as a matter of fact, but want the car breathing and performing right.

Here's a question about Flowmaster Exhaust if anyone knows:

My friend put in Flowmasters in his 82 Z-28. Great Sound I may add, but I noticed that the Muffler Pipes don't go all the way to the back of the bumper. I think they stopped in the mid-area of the car.

Could anyone tell me what type of Exhaust that was?

*Hint: it sounded like Dom's Charger when he got on it. Even idling it had beef to it.

Thanks!

Dynomax is too quiet, you're right. My friend has it on his 88 IROC and I can't tell at idle. Anyway, outside at idle it has a very deep tone to it, but doesn't sound as "hollow" as Flowmaster. Inside at idle is also nice. It doesn't sound as deep and its not extremely loud. Inside when stepping on it isn't that loud either so you can still hear music and talk to people without having to yell. I've only heard it outside at WOT once from far away when I let a buddy drive it and it sounded nice. Pretty loud and definitely gets your attention.

I think he has turn downs. The exhaust ending there would make it louder inside the car. If he has two 40 series ending there, id imagine it would give off that sound.

Id just like to say Flowmasters rule

Bah!

On some cars, Flows sound alright. But on most I've heard it sounds too hollow for my tastes

Mines hollow at idle. But when driving it, reving it, its nice and deep/growly. I am very pleased

Id like to hear a ravin if I could.

I agree, yours does sound pretty damn badass when revving. At idle its actually not too bad either. I've heard worse, probably on V6's though. I'd post a clip if I could figure out how to get this little HP Formada handheld PC to work right with my computer, but my computer doesn't recognize its connected or something

Is it suppose to connect to your computer through the Usb Port?

Yup, and I have the wire for it and I have it connected and it says

"Communications Error
Cannot start communications with the desktop computer. Remote Networking could not start due to a critical error (Error 678).

Please reconnect your device. If the problem persists, restart your device using the instructions provided by the manufacturer."

I have reconnected and got the same message so I restarted both the handheld and my PC with no luck.

Try going into your device manger under usb controllers. If it is listed with a yellow "!" double click it, go to drivers, hit update drivers, and have it search the cd it came with for new drivers. My computer has two usb ports in the back. If you got two, maybe the other one will work

After further review, I discovered its not a USB, its a serial I think (it says |0|0| where it plugs in in back)

Any other ideas?

I have the factory replacement for now. It sounds nice. I have installed headers and when at hight rpm's it has a crackle to it. It is a nice deep tone, and not a common sound. One that will stand out to everybody but the cops!! I had a dual flow on my other car, and since buying the ravin when it comes time to put my other baby back on the street, it will have ravin.
