They stuffed her...help!?!
Maybe my being new to owning a car with some muscle, and power has blinded me to a few things that matters to them where it would not on something a bit less umm..shall we say loveable, or maybe it is just that I am a complete blundering idiot, but whatever the case I need some help. I was in hopes that maybe a few of you nice souls, might response to this. I recently had to replace my exhaust, due to the fact that she had a hole, that was growing worse as they always do…I was not there, when my lady was getting fixed trusting her in the hands of a guy friend. Thinking that he had to know what needed to be done, because it is the basic ‘guy’ thing, they are suppose to know how to get a car fixed, in there blood or what not. I got a performance exhaust put on her, and I swear, they suck a cork in her. She has lost a great deal of power, or so it seems…and to make a long I am sure boring story short, I need to know, if this is normal or not, and what I should look at placing on her instead. Thanks, for any help you might give. And I am sorry for rattling on so..I just want my lady fixed again. I hope someone can make head or tails out of my mess.
thats weird, a performance exhaust should have helped, not hurt, .....pop your hood and see if you hear any hissing sounds, sounds like a vaccume leak or somthing. im not the all knowing mechanic or anything so i *could* be wrong, but it sounds like a leak. in any event take it back to whoever put the exhaust on and ask what EXACTLY all did they touch/replace and tell them to fix it

What kind of setup did you get?? Was it from a company like summit, or just what they called a proformance setup? The problem might be is the fact that the hole opened up and let out a lot of back pressure. Hard to say, but I would have gone with a hooker cat back from summit, or a Ravin from Midas.

Was it only the stuff from the cat back replaced? Do you have a cat on there now?
What kind of car is this?
oh, and "a guy thing, bein in there blood' wow, a woman is stereotyping guys, magine that
just playin with ya.

oh, and "a guy thing, bein in there blood' wow, a woman is stereotyping guys, magine that
just playin with ya. I have a 85 Trans Am, with a 305, six speed, and whatever else that requires. Sadly up until this last year, I have had no idea, what makes her or any other car tick, other than the basic, oil changes, tire fixing..blah, blah, you know things any car owner should know how to deal with. I only cared about how they ran, what can I say I was younger and not as wise.
I got the car at the start of the year, and am working may way through the little dings that come with buying a used car, even if it has only had one owner, before me. The short of it is, I am not sure what is on her. All I know is that he said I needed a performance exhaust. I know it is not a hooker though that is what I was thinking about getting in time. Nothing like the purr of nice car.
I didn’t mean to ruffle anyone’s feather with the ‘being in the blood’ remark and I am sorry if I have. I appreciate any and all help.

your car could have ran better with the hole in the exhaust due to it not being restricted, and now that the hole is fixed, its running with restriction "muffler, catalytic converter" but i still say get whoever that *fixed* it to unfix it so itll run right lol

A 6spd?? I don't mean to come off like an azz, sure it's not a 5 spd??
So you're into Hookers too?
oh and earlier, I wasn't mad or anything, no ruffled feathers here, just jokin around.

and yeah, guess you could say I am into Hookers too, although in truth it don't really matter much, Hooker, flowmaste..whatever, so long as it has that lovely growl, that says 'don't even think about it' It sends chills up my spine.
Thanks Slowmaro, I am trying to get in touch the with person that did it, just is not anyone there till after the holiday. I have done some reading and it seems that you are most likly right about the blocked thing. She needs air, to come in and out, so with luck, I can fix it.
Much thanks to all. :hail:
its either 2 plug wires are crossed, or a vaccumme leak. at least thats what it sounds like, other han a totally clogged catalytic converter. but that doesnt happen overnight. i dunno...its hard to analyze the problem when we dont get exact syptoms, is it stuttering? if so around what rpm range?

I would go with Ravin. It has a nice sound, and the price is fairly cheep. It is quite in the car but is loud out side. THe deep rumble cant be beat. And blowmasters only sound good when they have more than a 12" tail pipe and not alot of motor behind them.
