header gaskets

I am looking for recommendations for header gaskets (at the heads not the y-pipe).

Don't mind spending extra for a quality piece either. Anyone have any suggestions ?

thx in advance,
RP.

Aluminum or copper, about $40, but they're reusable.

With my new aluminum heads I'm gettin aluminum ones, I don't want to risk another blown gasket and burnin the heads.

I think Percy's makes the aluminum one..

flowtech "realseal". dead soft aluminum construction. reusable. they are great. they will work very good with those flowtech you have palric. they work great on my flowtechs. i think i paid 62 dollars for mine....i cant quite remember, but it was right around that. i put them in when i swapped engines, no leaks at all. i also have the "realseal" collector gaskets. i would go for these.

Yeah definitely the Percy's Aluminum ones. They're expensive, but if you have alot of power they're worth the money. A guy I know from Cali has an amateur race team, and his race car is a 327 makin about 500-525 HP, he's been usin the aluminum ones for years, and hasn't blown one yet.

Too much advertising hype........

Just wrapped up my header install in my IROC, and just as every other header install I've done, I have NO exhaust leaks underhood.

Go to a parts store and get TWO sets of Fel Pro replacement STOCK exhaust manifold gaskets. Now just use one set PER header. Put each matching pair together, metal side to the head and metal side to the header. Loctite the bolts, and you have NO LEAKS, and you just spent less than $20.

Thx Brad I didn't know flowtech made gaskets too -- I'll check 'em out. Mind if I ask where you got them from ?

thx,
