no muffler or catback system?

My TA currently does not have a muffler on it. I am thinking about putting an american thunder cat back system on it. Would i be better off by just leaving it with no muffler, or by putting the catback system on it?

Depends, do you like the sound? How are the noise police where you live?

I'd go for the cat-back personally.

Well, i dont know if i have heard a sound clip from a cat back system, but from what i have heard from flowmaster mufflers, i like that sound. and the noise police arent a big problem around here. Also, is there a way i can tell what size the pipes are that are coming out of my cat w/o looking at my car (its a few miles away right now). Its an LB9 single cat. does anybody know whether its a 2.5" or a 3"?

so you just have the pipe right after the rear end..

did that increase performance / sound?

well the thing is, i dont know what it sounds like w/o a muffler and i dont know how it performs w/o a muffler. But i like the way that it sounds w/o a muffler. Its deep and aggressive, and it gets with the program, but its not loud unless u are WOT. Thats why i am contemplating on getting a cat back system. Other people have said that their cars sound like crap with no muffler, but i think mine sounds awesome. It doesnt have a choppy sound, its smooth. It doesnt start being choppy unless u are on it. But even then it sounds pretty good.I havent had any trouble with cops, but thats cuz i dont gun it in front of them. But yep, all it is, is just the pipe straight back from the cat, and then another pipe is welded on to the first about where the muffler goes. If i get a pic ill show ya, but im sure u know what it looks like.
