i also have had both, if you want an agressive sound go with flowmaster, if you want a more mello (stock) sound go with dynomax

What about the Dynomax welded crosflow muffler, race series?Someone posted the part#s to make a whole catback kit.I think this would be a more fair comparison to the Flowmaster.

The Dynomax sounds pretty crappy IMO. I also know that the quality isn't very good, thats one reason why its so darn cheap. I would go with Flowmaster or another brand, like Hooker, whose system I am very pleased with.

they're right flows are much louder. I used Dynomax Super turbo on a basically stock motor. very deep very mellow sound. I like both but being a daily driver and in sales I needed a quieter sound.

how about going to an extreme and going with the borla. I had a flowmaster and got rid of it for a borla what an excellent move that was

I have the Dynomax system right now, and I like the sound, especially for the price. But as far as sound, there's nottin' like a Flowmaster, even in big cam drag engines. Later I am putting in a modified 350 with a 3" system and really won't have a choice but Flowmaster. They are loud, but in a pleasent way. They do perform better, but they cost. Dynomax's high flows are just loud. Borla is nice but again the cost is HIGH!!! They'll last forever, but I don't think I'll keep the car THAT long. Unless I win the lotto, I'll probably go with the sweet a** sound of the Flowmaster.
I guess it all adds up to your wallet, and what kinda mods your gonna do. IMO anything sounds better than a MUSTy-stAiN-G.

My brother has the dynomax on his Crapstain and it soudns pretty good. The flowmaster is about the same, maybe a little louder. But why bother with either. Borla all the way!
