Read an article: SLP vs Dynomax Ultra Flo Mufflers.
Well, not an article only about mufflers...but it was an article on a white 89 formula 350 that runs 10's on the stock shortblock ( HOT ROD).
Changing the muffler from the SLP one side dual out to the crossflow Ultra Flo Dynomax resulted in a reduction of 2 10ths in e.t. in the 11 second timeslip range! Just the muffler= 2 tenths!
When I swapped out my Super turbo for my Ultra Flo in my 91...it was a seat off the pants ridiculous improvement...even more of an improvement than when I put headers in the car a long time ago!

Certainly believable.
Maybe that's why Dynomax is THE ONLY company that sells their mufflers with cfm ratings.
They're the only ones confident enough to show what they actually DO FLOW, and not make claims like "our muffler produces more torque than open pipes".
Yea..... maybe at a certain RPM (like below 2000) :sillylol:
Who's muffler comes stock on all Porsche cars?
Hint: It ain't Blowmaster or Prostitute

I always liked the super turbo over flowmatsers. I think once you need the extra cfm, it will make the difference. Those I see with the ultra's have some decent mods. I'm sure I would not see that much of a difference. Possiblely even slower since I could lose some low end lorque. That is why I'm surprised to see so many people with 1 5/8 headers. That is adequate for some serious horse, but I would think that it would hurt cars slower than 13.00's on low end torque. Maybe the single exhaust set up works differently than straight pipes??

Dynomax is definetly good and are great flowing mufflers. The only thing is they don't really have a muffler that has a loud aggressive sound like Flowmaster.

Mine is really loud...louder than my 84' with a 2 chamber flowmaster....and it sounds way cleaner too, not just like a car that only has an exhaust, like many flowmaster setups..they sound great and flow WAY better than flowmasters. If they didn't sound that great I wouldn't even care either cause performance wise they kick ***.

I don't think I have. Do they come with dual outlets on the opposite sides??

I only use dynomax, Ihave a cross flo Utra flo on my car, my old GTA had a super turbo and my dad just put dual 2 1/5" dynos on his roadmaster wagon (LT1)
They are sweet, but for a kit if you wnt 3" get the muffler for the 4th gens, it is 3" in with dual opposite 3" out.
forgot the part number but it is easy to find on their site.

one thing about exhaust is i notice that everyones car is louder than the other guys. lol
it makes it REALLY hard to REALLY distinguish which is the more flowing and or louder muffler.
I have flowmaster and I like it, but the only downfall is that slite tinny sound.
My blazer has dynomax. they both have 350's with 3 inch piping. the camaro is MUCH louder...but the truck doesnt have the tinny sound.

Check out the November 2002 GM High Tech Performance. They do the same thing and put on a DynoMax Cat-Back on their project Magnum car. Also gave them 2/10's faster time.
Looks like Dynomax is the way to go, at least from the Magazines point of view.
