Hey IrocThe5.7L ... question for ya!
Tried to get into your webpage but it said it was down. I love the sound of your car.. that is what I am looking for with my 87 Iroc (5.7L). What setup are you running? I am going to be looking at getting a Cat-back System this winter to be installed next spring and whatever you have on there sounds awesome! I can legally remove my CAT and install a resonator where I am from so I was wondering what you had to make your Iroc sound that way?

" Well im not the guy your looking for, but being a fanatic of his car, i know he uses a Flowmaster 80 series muffler. I believe thats all that he has changed in the exhaust.

Hey glad you like it
My car is bone stock except for a 3 inch pipe from cat to flowmaster 80 series muffler and a high flow cat.
My page is back up but the movies are down until I can find a good server.

Well I am getting another muffler tomorrow. Its a DynoMax Sport Turbo.. pretty good price $115.00 Canadian.
I was also talking to a muffler shop and they said they would install it as well. I am either going to remove the Cat all together or install a resonator ( I can legally get away that here), no emission checks. What do you guys think I should do?
And is a DynoMax Super Turbo a good muffler? Good exhaust note? I had a DynoMax Sport Turbo on my 92 Sunbird GT and it had a nice throaty sound.

Dynomax are basically a factory replacement that is slightly louder. They are a decent muffler for the money, but they have a few drawbacks that the better performance mufflers take care of.
1.) The I.D. of the perforated pipes in the muffler are 2.5". Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Hooker, and Edelbrock are all 3"
2.) The build quality isn't great. I've seen a lot of cases split at the seams because they arent welded. It's easy to do if it gets bashed by a rock, or hit a curb, etc.
3.) The amount of turns the exhaust must make within the muffler reduces flow.
If you are looking for a stock replacement, then it's a good muffler. If you want sound and performance, you will be disapointed. I paid $80 for my Magnaflow and it is also lifetime waranteed

Well I have a DynoMax and I have been told good stuff about it...
Tomorrow I am going to be removing the Cat and straight piping it back to the muffler...I don't want it too loud, just a nice deep, throaty sound..
Remove the CAT or put in a Resonator? That is the question I am looking to get answered. Too loud without the Cat? Not loud enough with a Resonator?

Got the Dynomax installed today and it sounds f****king awesome!!! It ain't too loud and it definitely ain't quiet!! It has a nice low rumble at idle..and when I open it up she has a real throaty growl!!
Here is what I did...
Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler (1 in - 2 out)
Removed the Cat all together
Would this be considered a Catback exhaust? Or is that something else??
So she is straight piped all the way from the manifolds back to the muffler..
It's great!!
