I would get the Hooker cat-back, but not sure if summit sells it, I know jegs does. With the money you would have left you can rule out SLP headers, I have the Edelbrock and it was an easy install.

I think some of the Edelbrock's due come with a 3" depending on the part #, something you might want to call summit about.

there are 2 main versions of edelbrocks for us. 1 has 2.5" pipes going to single 3", the other is the TBI one that has a heat riser for the air cleaner, 2.25" pipes going into a single 2.5" cat pipe.

My TES system has dual 2.25" 'collectors' and Y-pipe 'intermediate pipes' going into a single 3" pipe that goes to the converter. not sure who you're talking to about this stuff or what they are smoking....

i called summit and sent them an e mail...they said the y-pipe is different on an 86 and up and it would not fit my 83......from edelbrock "Unfortunately the header # 6872 has a different Y-pipe and cross over pipe and these will not work on your 83 model." soo.. will it or not??????
