Holy crap 3" exhaust OWNZ
Well i went to the track today for the first time with my 3" pressbent ****ty shop exhaust.I just want to know something.is it normal to gain a half second just by adding a 3" cat and I-pipe?cause thats exactly what happened.i was running 15.8's last year on the stock 2.25 pipe and a flowmaster 80,and now with a 3" Catco and a 3" I-pipe,i got down to a best of 15.37,and that was feathering off the line due to really really ****ty 205's on the back with no Posi.i think i coulda had 15.2's easily if i had good tires and posi.i just wish i had the money for headers to see if those alone could get me into the 14's,with new tires of course.for an LO3,this motor really isnt that damn bad.
Actually, I've never been able to prove that the mandrel bends are that much better. I've had both on various cars, and for the money... those pressbent shops pipes work real nice.
Best system I ever had was one the shop did for me 100% custom from the base of the primaries back. Ran smooth, sounded
good and increased power quite a bit.
just my .02

It is good mod to make, but what people fail to realize, is the variables that take place. For one, it's 1 yr later for you, how was the air temp on both days? How about tune ups? What about your shift points if manually done?

mark the air temp was actually about 10-15 degrees warmer(the slip didnt say it this time),but the humidity was prolly about 15% less too.i found that i actually HAD to shift into 3rd before the finish line(around 1100ft actually),whereas with the 2.25 exhaust i could get past the line in 2nd.so its definetely breathing easier with the 3" up top.and the car was in the same state of tune as it was last time i ran it.the only difference in variables was the weather, which was actually slightly less favorable(if it was colder i might have made it into the low 15.3's or even 15.2 even) and the exhaust.
2000_eclipse all my mods are in the sig.i think i have a REALLY good running LO3.i seem to be one of the quicker LO3's ont he boards with the minimal mods i have.
cant wait to build this thing.
