EdelB Tes+stock now...going true dual (a bit long)
This is where I'm at with my car now. 35K miles on my 1LE. I just finished an ATI P1SC install, running a Crane AFPR and EdelB TES headers and Flowmaster catback now. I'm looking for a good set of NON air tube headers that will also allow me to run true dual. I have a guy that does alot of custom cars and he's done true duals on an 85 camaro and a 91 Z. He said he's running 1 chamber mufflers and that's too loud for me, I'm looking at a 2 or 3 if possible. If you guys have input on a good set of headers and mufflers please let me know. 1 Last question, will going true dual eliminate me from using subframe connectors?? Thanks again,

Mubie,
sounds like a cool set up. Are you wanting to go with long tube headers or shorties? If long tube headmen makes a 1 5/8 primary header and hooker makes a 1 3/4 primary long tube header. With boost the 1 3/4 might be better but I do not know. Going with true duals with sacrifice ground clearance, depending on what mufflers you use will be the biggest determing factor. There are several threads going on right now with some really good info on dual exhaust set ups. Momar has one of the best looking/low buck systems out there right now. You can go with a small tube muffler like a bullet but its going to be loud, especially under boost. You could use some type or turbo muffler to make it more quiet but will sacrifice ground clearance some in the rear. You can still use sub frame connectors, that really shouldnt be a problem as far as I can see unless you route your pipes in some obscure location. It will be very interesting to see what kind of power gains and ET gains you get from going to dual exhaust. Keep us posted.

i just ordered the moroso "spintech" mufflers....they're round like the bullets but supposed to be quieter and they're basically the same dimensions as the bullet mufflers so ground clearance shouldn't be a problem. well as much of a problem

I think he means Spiral Flow. I had the Moroso Spiral Flows on mine in 3". They were very loud. I couldn't stand it & took them off after a week. Now they are sitting on my workbench.

Were these spiral flows 1 chamber? I like loud but not Nascar obnoxious loud. I want similiar to a flowmaster or borla sound. Is there anything like that for say Vettes? The routing of the exhaust in my car would be much like one. The muffler location is almost the same.

Not 1 chamber in the Flowmaster sense. They are bullet style race muffs. They look like glasspacks. They have a straight through pipe that is about half the inlet diameter & a corkscrew like baffle going around that pipe.
