Need Y pipe for Edle. Headers, Where??

I regret that I went to a shop after hours and got a "custom" true-duel exhaust setup on my 88 GTA. I loved the sound and feel, untill the passenger side came unbolted from the header. They had rigged it so poor, I can't tighten it and one of the bolts is pretty stripped. I've taken it back to the shop 3 times to have them tighten it up (cause I can barely get on it with my tools) and now it's come loose again. It makes for a loud, hot, rough, smelly ride.

It's been over a year ago, and I just want to go with a good 2" or 3" exhaust with 1 pipe all the way back. I know where to buy the system from the y back, but I have no idea where to buy/order a Y pipe. PLEASE HELP! One well-respected wanted almost $280 to build a Y pipe for me. I think it's a little overpriced. As stated above, I have Edlebrock shorty headers. I can post pics of the headers if needed. Thanks for all the help.

Your best bet would be to call Edelbrock directly and see what they can do for you.

Edelbrock sells their y-pipes for dual cat or single catalytic cars seperate, it's in their "bulk items bin". Best thing to do is call edelbrock, find the part numbers and get them from summit. Expect to pay $140-$170 for a new y-pipe. I've done this twice.

i say u goto a shop (NOT midas or meineke or others like them, they r a$$holes) and get a y pipe made, our shop in pittsburgh is making mine for $100 and it's 2.5 in pipes to a 3 in collector and it's all stainless mandrel bent pipes.

I agree...get one made properly. I too have Edlebrock headers that I just had installed. The guy managed to hook up my original Ypipe with some work but I plan on taking my car to a good muffler shop on Saturday and getting one made. I've seen the edlebrock piece and don't really care for the y part of the ypipe.

Better to pay a little more now and get the job done right than pay twice!

Yeah, I'm going to take it to a couple of places and see what they can do. I hope to have a 3" all the way back . I did talk to Edelbrock, the Y-pipe part # is 25-9509... but I'm with you. I don't really care for the Edel Y after looking and reading about it. I'll post results from shops, and maybe some pics.

I got my Ypipe made last Friday. It ended up costing me a little more than I wanted but it came out amazing...2.5" mandrel bent to a 3" pipe....at no part during the 2.5" do they ever get smaller than that.

The original Ypipe is very bad BTW. I will post track results this week.

here is a quick sketch of what I had made up...it's not to scale but I think it represents the ypipe accurately

Thanks

I decided to go ahead and sell the car (not due to the exhaust). It is in the classified area on thirdgen.org. Thanks for all your help!
