Headers

I know this topic has been drilled into the ground, sorry. But what headers and y-pipe should I buy? I have a 92 Camaro stock 305 TBI automatic.

Personally for a 305, I really like the Hedman LTs (1 5/8" primaries, 3" collector). Buddy added those to his TA and picked up .4 in the 1/8 just w/ the headers and a custom y-pipe. You will have to get a shop to make a y for it though, cause it doens't come w/ one. He used 2 S-Xtensions and a Flowmaster Y, then got the place to bend 2.5" tube and weld it all up...

It is very hard to get long tubes in a third gen and have a y-pipe fabbed due to the limited space. You get get basiclly the same performance from the Hedman 68470 shortys and matching y-pipe. And they are basiclly a direct bolt up to the stock cat. Which makes them a very popular setup. We also carry these with AIR.
We can weld in an o2 bung prior to coating also. If you wish for the LT's we also carry these at a discount for the members on the boards here.

Dave, what all would I need? And do you carry all of the parts I would need?

I was thinking of dumping right infront of the rear tires, any advice on how I could set that up?

We have a guy that just bought a set of Hooker 2460's and is dumping at the rear wheels with no cat and he had his local exaust shop fab up the pipe which most shops won't do without cats. We also, as the other guy with us here stated, Have hed people do it with the long tubes. But again you have to get the tubing fabbed up.
With the Hedman #68470 we carry everthing you nedd down to the cat, Beyond that you can have it fabbed to the rear wheels.
It's pretty much all a matter of opinion which is the best setup for a street car.

How much are the 68470's from you? What parts would I need to be able to dump infront of the rear wheels on both sides and how much would it run me?

Hello, The Headers are $239 AND the y-pipe is $85 it is an additional $50 to have the y-pipe coated.
You are goind to need some bends and some straight pipes to complete the catback which are available through JEGS. or jus take it to the exaust shop and have them finish it out they will have the necessary piping.

I wish the had been coated just because now the look like crap because of some rushed prep work before paint. I painted the with some hi temp stuf I got at advanced and anywhere the header was clean and free of the old pain it has held up well.

I get my days off separate from each other and what I have is good for now. Within the next couple of years I should be doing a motor swap and when I do I will probably raplace them with new ones and I will get a hold of you.

No Problem if I take in a used set on trade ( in decent shape) then I will let you know and coat them and trade you out for your used ones as in no down time for the same product!
Thanx
