Mounting WBO2 sensor
I did a few searches and didnt really find anything that say how far away or close to the head is acceptable. I have SLP 1 3/4" headers that are ceramic coated. I was hoping to just be able to use my stock O2 bung for temp/permanant use of the wide band, but I think this is a pipe dream. I have a LOT of tuning to do on my car and my exhaust is very hot i think because of the ceramic coating.
Basically how where should i mount the sensor? I am running a cat so I know it has to be before that.

A wideband relies on its heater to maintain the correct operating temperature, so you can put it anywhere in the exhaust you want. The farther it is from the heads the longer it will take to respond, however. You could mount it permanently in the stock location (assuming you don't need to keep the stock O2 sensor for the ECM, of course), but never run the car without the sensor's heater working or you'll ruin the sensor in a fairly short period of time.

I was under the impression too that the sensor could be too close to the head also even though it is heated. But how close is too close?

Unless you're going to try to put it in a primary tube, I don't see how you could get it too close.

according to Zeitronixs' install instructions :
"Never mount the oxygen sensor in stock factory location or closer than 12" from the headers. Exposing the senor to the tempature above 800 C will cause sensor damage."

Wait 12" from the headers? So it would have to be in the y pipe then. Are you saying that 1500 is a high temperature and that it shouldnt be too hot if I install it in the collector of the drivers side? The SLP location

Unless you're running pretty lean under load your exhaust shouldn't be getting quite that hot.
