Replacing the "muffler" on my Loudmouth

OK, if you haven't heard yet, the Loudmouth is too loud now that I'm running at higher RPM's due to the new stall converter. I'm looking for options.

I know that there are a few bullet type mufflers out there that I could put in place of that so called "muffler" in the LM system. It's nothing but a 4" pipe welded inline with the rest of the 3" system.

What are your opinions? Anyone running any of these mufflers?

Put a 3" bullet in front of the resonator it should quiet it down a lot at lower RPM's and you shouldn’t lose any performance.

put a bullet, borla XR1 or dynomax 6" round ultraflow welded muffler IN PLACE of the resonator

honestly there isnt much u can do to quiet that thing down, unless u install a real muffler but there is no room. are u running a cat? def suggest a cam when using the LM, they are just TOOO loud with ORY

I was waiting for someone to respond equally before spewing my opinion. What is the reasoning for including the resonator?

If you want it quieter after that, add bullet, chambered, straight-through, or whatever you like to label them as, mufflers after the y, after passing the axle. You could use one in place of the resonator, and then one in the piece of straight tubing parallel with the back seat row. If that didn't suit your needs, try using two in the straight pieces consisting of the tail pipes, one each obviously.

Or, sell it to me as is. You have mail.

Do what almost all the 4th gen guys do... put a Dynomax Bullet in place of the resonator. It's so common its even got a name - Dynomouth

Looks like I'm gonna sell it. I'll probably go with a Hooker.

I'd probably buy a hooker with the money too.

Oh, you meant a hooker exhaust didn't you?

could you put a header cone into your headers and run the SLP loudmouth?

You know those mesh like cones that quiet down your straight open headers, but loose no power. I believe CAR Chemistry makes them. That should soften the sound a bit.
