Flexpipe

This might be a dumb question, but I was in the auto parts store and I saw an exhaust flexpipe. It looked kinda fishy to me. Anyone ever use this, or know about it? Thank you.

Oh, by the way, I was searching, and I saw some flexjoints. But what I saw was different than that. It was sold by the 6 feet.

The stainless steel stuff is fairly good. A lot of over-the-road trucks use it.

I've had it on the '57 for about 4 years. No issues with it.

i built a quick y-pipe for my old 2460's with it. it hung a bit low, and was an eye-sore so i painted it with some high temp black. it did the job.

Really? So if I get it good and tight, maybe painted black, a whole exhaust can be done with it? Does it sound the same and give the same performance?

i'd imagine the ribs inside don't do anything really good for flow, but if it's big enough, then i guess it would be fine. it was just something i did to get by. but i would think it would be cheaper to put more straight pipe in. i'm assuming your doing duals? exactly what do you plan on using it for?

Was thinking about taking flexpipe down from the headers till I could get straight pipe in a good position, then when I need to make a turn and go over the axle.

just have a way to secure it, cause it doesn't hold shape really all that well. and it doesn't bend as far as you'd think it would.
