Hooker 2210->Cutouts ; After each header, or after the y pipe?
I am going to be welding my 2210's to the hooker catback, and I want cutouts, but is it better for peak power to put the cutouts after each header or after they Y together?
Also does any one have pictures of 2210 hookers with cutouts? I need some help with ideas. thanks.

Depends on the application. My guess is straight exit cut-outs as close to the collector is the best. I haven't seen any pictures of cut outs installed on 2210s. I do have my project that I'm planning on doing down the road. Currently I have 2210s, Mufflex 4" Y-pipe with 4 to 3" adapter welded on, 3" cut-out, and a Mccord electric plate all sitting in the house. I was planning on just adding the 3" cut-out after the Y pipe.
I was considering doing dual cut-outs but decided against it. Money was the major factor. I also didn't know from the way some of the pictures looked how much clearance would be there.
Here's a shot of Phil87IROC's exhaust (got the link off the sticky):
I also was trying to decide if I wanted to install my cutout straight off the Y-pipe and use the angled exit for the cat-back pipe. That way when uncapped the exhaust would have a straight exit.
What are you using for a Y-pipe?

Those are the long tube Hookers, correct? If so, I'd put one 3" cutout on each collector. That way, when you uncork the exhaust, you litterally have open headers, not just a single, uncorked exhaust pipe.

Correct, that is the PN for LT's. I was just wondering about clearance where it gets vented.

I have Hooker long tubes with "quickie tubes" exhaust cut outs. The caps for the cut outs are straight back from the header collector. The exhaust is connected out the side of the cut out. Those pipes run into a flowmaster y-pipe which is attached to dynomax exhaust.....Exhaust pipes set about the same height as the header collectors...

Got the Longtubes on!
I finished the install today, including the custom y pipe. I ended up putting the cutouts directly behind the headers and then going to dual 2 1/2 pipes to my flow master collector then to my hooker I-pipe. The clearance is great. It sounds very smooth and the exhaust reminds me of an LS1 with a loud mouth with out actually being as loud.
As for power, the low end is just as good if not better than my 2055 shorties, and the top end is simply INSAN!. My car feels like it picked up 30 rwhp! It just screams and it loves to rev. I did not think that these headers would have made my car that much quicker.
The install was something I would never want to do again. It was pretty rough to install them and they sure are tight.
I will try to get some pictures up of the setup.
