Electric Exhaust Cutout

Hey I installed a Quick Time Performance 3" electric exhaust cutout, adn it is really trick. Easily intsalled and the switch is actually really neat stock. It's backlit and changes color depending on if you push it open or closed. BTW the sound is unbelievable! Sorry, still can't get the pics from the computer to the TGO. Here's a link to the pics on my cardomain site.

honestly don't even know what my gas mileage is.. but i only use it at the track or for a minute or so on a back country road, so it doesn't much matter.

oh. my friend has a manual one, but he said even with the cap on he still got horrible gas mileage because it created so much turbulence it the exhaust.

It was $150 shipped to my door, so all in all, not too bad.

I have one (not electric, just a plate) and it didnt change my gas milage at all from what was there before, and open/closed doesn't seem to make much difference either. I get about 12mpg just tooling around town with it open or closed.

When I had my 3" Cut out this might sound funny but it improved my gas mileage I drove with it fully open pretty much all the time! The car also ran much better with it open but it was loud as hell and would make my floorboard vibrate.

The idea is that a cutout will take out any restriction in the exhaust system, which will free up more power for when you take the car out to the track, and it is true too, because you essentially eliminate the entire exhaust system.
When I open up my cutout, it makes a noticeable difference at the track. I go about 3 tenths and 4mph faster with it open.

...however... most people that buy cutouts aren't even remotely interested in the slightly faster times or improved performance they provide. Most people buy them just because its VERY LOUD!!

(And I gotta admit, thats part of the reason I got mine in the first place... Mostly for racing, but tooling around on the street occasionally with it open is quite fun too)

Exactly, for street use it's to scare off the weaker ones and antaganize the one's who want to play!
