Bending pipe for exhaust
I was thinking about buying a pipe bender to try to make my own bends but was wondering if anyone knows anything about it. Can i use this style bender on exhaust pipe? http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-16-TON-PIPE-...QQcmdZViewItem

Cheap. 180 shipped, but im not sure if its going to cut it. exhaust pipe is pretty thin stuff it might just crease it.

That will just kink and or crush it, its too thin wall of stuff to use that and it turn out good. Thats more for rollcages and such. Mandrel exhaust benders are a couple grand I think, if they were just 200 bucks alot of people would have em....

That will work if you want crushed bent pipes...mandrel bent pipes are expensive because the equipment is a fortune....a mandrel bender is tens of thousands of dollars. I've seen 3" units starting at around $35K+.

Ditto, you'll need something like this
eBay Motors: HUTH EXHAUST PIPE BENDER WITH 3 INCH DIES MUST SEE !!!! (item 4639341843 end time May-16-06 20:03:26 PDT)
I have some friends that have one. They found an exhaust shop several years ago that was going out of business and picked up the bender along with all the dies for $1k. But, you will only find a deal like that if you're lucky. Look at spending big $$$ for a machine to properly do customer exhaust.
