Loud exaust
Hi everyone ive just bought my first third gen and I am new to the site.
It is an 1988 Camaro iroc-z 5.7tpi in dark red colour with t-tops.
I live in Scotland in the UK so its quite a rare car over here, would anyone recomend a good buck box that will make the car sound a lot noisier and more like a v8 should, I owned a 1978 Camaro a few years ago and had straight through exaust pipes which sounded great.
Cheers Davie

chambered tube works great for loud and good tone. and cheap too
flowmaster 80 series is not bad either.. just make sure you get the FULL 3inch version

Flowmaster and or chambered exhaust would be great. But you still wont have that loud sound your 1978 camaro had without a nice set of headers. I have a 1987 camaro 305 with a three inch flowmaster and y pipe. It doesn't sound that loud at idle, but if you were to get a flowmaster, I would go for the american thunder or force two exhaust kits. You are a lucky man not to have to use catalytic converters.

I just installed a dynomax ultraflo 3" round on my 5.7 iroc .it is a loud muffler but imo it has a good sound & i dont even have headers.

Oh, I forgot. If you want to make your car really loud, you can put on a header cut out in the space where your catalytic converter was. They vary from 25 to 150 dollars in US dollars. There is one that has wing nuts, which you take off manually, one that has a string you pull, but you have to attach the string again when you need to close it, and there are electric cut outs that all you need to do is press a button to open and close it. They create instant intimidation.
You can order them from www.jegs.com or www.summitracing.com I don't think these web sites show the best offers. But if you order a catalog you will find cheap prices and the catalogs are free.
