Got Long Tubes, Now What?

Picked me up a new set of Hedman LT's at the swap meet for $70. Now I need to decide what to do from the headers back. I'm thinking Xtensions into 2-1/2"bullet mufflers, then like a foot of 2-1/2" piping as tailpipes. Or I could do an X-pipe, or custom make it into a single exhaust. Need sumthin that will make my LB9 sound kinda mean.

If you can/want to go dual, then do it. No real power gains but it'll sound pretty good PLUS it'll support a future motor making alot more power. Duals may also be cheaper than buying all the parts to make it into a single - depending on what you want.

dual bullets would be the easiest, but Im not sure how it will sound dual, with LT's, on a 305. I had a single bullet on my 305TBI Camaro with a cutout right behind, and it sounded bad down low, but good when I got on it. The bullet I had on my LT1 Z had the cutout farther back and it sounded real good.

Id like to try the Flowmaster Delta Force race mufflers, but they're a lot more expensive.

You could go with the 40s series single chambers, they aren't all THAT expensive.

I have one on the car now, mounted where the cat goes, and with an 18" tailpipe. It sounds real good and deep. But its too low to the ground, and trying to mount 2 of them higher up might not be possible.

Right now I just wanna know what might sound good from other peoples experience. Then I can compare prices and practicality.

I had those headers. Then went into some s-bends from Hedman

Then it was straight 2.5" pipe into a pair of Dynomax bullets. The car was really loud, but it was a cheap, easy exhaust system that flowed really well IMO. Not to mention ground clearence was still good.
