Glasspack or regular muffler

I have a '90 firebird with a 350tpi, i was wondering would a glasspack or a regular muffler like a flowmaster series 40 or 80 sound better?

Read that again, and tell me if it makes sense. I think you left a word or two out, what is it you are trying to do, sound or performance?

For flow, try the Thrush Magnum glasspacks, made by Dynomax. However you may not like them since they're not your "standard" glasspack muffler, i.e. they don't make your car overly loud and your exhaust rumble. I LOVE mine but that's because it gives my babe a somewhat deeped but mostly mellow sound.

No, thats what i meant, that term of old school and glass packs is before 3rd gens, i live in Texas, too much glass pack distribution around here, the bullet sounds better, not much, it is ceramic packing so it is not much different, and yea, makes a vehicle a little less noisy.

If you are planning on going with the glasspack.....buy some aspirin and keep it in the car........trust me you are going to need it. I had them on my 6 banger and it drove me crazy! Ripped it out in under two months. Go with the FLOWmaster...

That's my 2c worth.

if you are looking for strickly flow and don't care about noise go with a bullet muffler. they are loud and don't sound dirty like a glasspack

Unless they're the Thursh Magnum, but like I said, the Magnums are quite quiet, so that's probably not what's wanted here.

i dont know how glass packs sound, flows sound good, but IMO i would not go with rustmasters, summit racing or jegs has force pro series muffler that i would go with, they are pretty much flowmasters, but dont rust out as quickly and, are $32 a muffler
