SLP 1-3/4 headers, AFR 195 Eliminator heads with straight plug angle, results within
Well I got some good news and some bad news.
Good news is the straight angle plugs work out perfect on these heads with SLP 1-3/4! It's no different then bolting the SLP's to my stock heads, only spot that will give you trouble is cylinder #5 when trying to get a socket on the plug to tighten down the spark plug but I had the same problem with the stock heads. What I did long ago was cut out a window out of a sparkplug socket, works great. I'll get proper pic's for you guys hopefully tuesday when my set of 8 AR3923's plugs come in, don't feel like taking 8 separate pic's with the one plug I do have.
Now for the bad, there is quite a mismatch with the exhaust port and SLP's. These AFR's exhaust ports are huge and the SLP's are kind of small in comparison. I'll post some pic's and you guys tell me what you think.

It's good to hear the straights will work. What exhaust gasket is that?

Sorry, my mistake. I was looking at the second hole from the right. The back side of the flange caught my eye first and it 'appeared' to be off. What are you going to do about the port size?

Hehehe, You look like me when we were assembling my motor. I'm using the Dart Pro One 200cc heads with straight plugs but with custom headers by Dyno Don. The only problem I had was trimming the header gasket at the top about 1/16" to it would clear the top of the exhaust port. No problem with the headers. I bet my collector opening is bigger than yours.
That is just one of the reasons I went with a custom build.

Ok I finally got my spark plugs in so I took some pic's with the plugs in with the boots on, as you will see there is plenty of room to work with. The crappy part of this is I might not be using these headers since the ports don't really match that great so I might be going with some long tubes if they fit ok for me.

Looks good. I have seen people say they have had problems with straight plugs but I don't see where the problem would be at. I'd like to see some pics like that of L98 plug heads. Thanks for the pics.
Since the ports don't appear to line up very well between the heads and the headers, what are the other options for emissions legal headers that might match up better?
I'll be running the same heads with a D1SC as well so I want at least 1 3/4" headers for it and SLP appeared to be the only emissions legal option.

So what did you end up doing with these headers not matching the exhaust ports? Did you port the headers to match the heads?

How would the clearance be if the exhaust would be raised 6mm, would they still clear with straight plugs?
Any pict of L98 angled heads?

I could e-mail you a picture of the AFR 195 Angle
with the SLP 1/34" headers if you want to post it.
Biggest problem is #8 spark plug to header clearance.
Having to use Autolite shorty plug and 1'' header wrap
with stainless tie.

email me the pictures gta324@spray.se
are they AFR 195 eliminator heads?
Just heard that AFR210 with straight plugs arent availible yet
The AFR210 also have the exhaust port a few mm higher that 195Cc, to make it worse....

I'll take a picture of the problem header pipe, #8 with
the AFR 195 Angles with the SLP 1/34 headers.
Just need e-mail address and would appreciate it
if you would post it here to help others.
The plugs I am using are Autolite 3926 shorties and
also help out with a couple of other pipes that are
pretty close
Don't have the software to downsize pics for posting.
Take about a day to get pic.
