adjustments ... adjustments
i had the same prob with my tbi, my right side hanger broke, wich may have not helped, hanged it with brass wire but i also tried several times to adjust it, i played around with the muffler shifting it side to side up down, got it right but would not last with these horrible quebec roads, but i realized that i also used the shitty donut style clamps and not good quality clamps so the exhaust would shift on its own, if u have crap clamps maybe u should upgrade and checked all ur hangers to see if they are broken or sanging then if all is good just take an afternoon to play around with the muffler and tips, ul get it eventualy but it may not stay that way for long... dont let get to u it doesnt show unless u make the other person realize it, thats what i noticed
my left tip always sticked out more then the right ...
but the sound was worth it ...

lol I had and still have the same problem but my problem is not the shifting clamps just y pipe is on a weird angle so it messied up the direction of the cat back. No problem tho, I'lll just fix when I get the headers.
The sound of the system is pretty damn good.

its not like I have touched the y pipe either. However to fix my problem, i'll (or my mechanic buddy) will have to bend (adjust) the y-pipe just so the angle headed towards the cat back will be correct or you can just bend the inter-mid pipe to straighten out the muffler. But I wont' be doing this till I recieve my SLP's, then when I have the whole exhaust system in play then I'll make the necessary adjustments to make it look as good as it sounds.

uneven tips drives me nuts when i had stock exhaust on my car the driverside tip was bent out slightly towards the outside of the car and it drove me nuts. i was very happy when i got my flowmaster catback on since it was done very symetrical and stright.

Re: Flowmaster Muffler Question
no cutting is required however a pipe bending machine is used to adjust the angle of the intermed-pipe (thats how my friends' uncles shop did it for me).

Re: Flowmaster Muffler Question
Got any pics? I have been building custom exhausts for 20 years and what kills me about some peoples work is this. The tips or tailpipes are really, the only part of the exhaust people see.....so if your gonna ***** up any part of the system, make sure its not the tips. Post some pics....I'll tell ya how you might fix it.

Re: Flowmaster Muffler Question
i cut the flared pipe, the one that's supossed to hook up to ur cat, i never reinstalled the cat just put a strait pipe so i dint want to complicate my life and bubble flair the strait pipe, cut and clamped dint have any problems there
to be honest after i hook up the system, it was awsome but in the end i dint like the 2 huge pipes coming out the back, its very muscle but 3rd gens are more sporty then muscle if u ask me, on my current 3rd gen i just gonna have the muffs end before the diff and have turn downs, thats all, keeping the rear end clean
