Which bullet?

I'm gonna be running shorty headers into a 3" exhaust with a dynomax bullet muffler. I have no idea what size to use. Any suggestions?

Re: Which bullet?

You didn't supply much info, it depends on your combo and what kind of noise level you like. Big inches rad motor, run a 3.5", 305 with stock heads/cam/intake, run the 3". Obviously the 3.5 will be louder, especially when the RPMs go up.

Good luck

Re: Which bullet?

3inch on 305 is a joke unless your talking about y pipe to a single exhaust.

Re: Which bullet?

I'm running Hooker shorties, Custom Y-pipe w/3" collector, 3" piping into Dynatek cat, 3" piping into Bullet muffler (in the I-pipe), 3" over axle and dumps for now. Eventually it will get 4thgen tips. My bullet is the longer version and 3". Sounds mean as hell.

Re: Which bullet?

But do you want a single or true dual setup is the real question. I have an 84 Z28 with a 355 pushing 400hp. I have long tube headers and moroso spiral mufflers and all this is true dual exhaust and 2.5 inch pipe.. The moroso spirals are very similar to the bullets but from what I hear there a little louder. My car does sound very loud and very mean but I have to pretty much idle by cops because its so loud. And if I mash the gas you can here me from 2miles away. You dont want to go more than 2.5 in with a true dual setup on your 355 unless your pushin out some mega hp.

Re: Which bullet?

I dont know much about how much a single exhuast can handle hp wise vs dia. You might want to do a search and see what other people have done in the past. And for dual tips you could get them anywhere and have a muffler shop just weld the tip onto the exhaust pipe.
