Dyno Don Headers
Just got a message from Dyno Don stating that my custom headers are finished. I know some of you are wanting to see the fit and quality so when they get here I will post pics of the install. My motor is going to love these big headers.
Big thanks goes out to Dyno Don for getting these done so quickly.

Re: Dyno Don Headers
This is the first time I have had them on. I had bought a set of SLP's but the ports weren't big enough so thats why I got Don's headers.
There pics in my build up thread.

Re: Dyno Don Headers
Called Dyno Don on Wed to see where my headers where and he told me there was a mix up with my set. I ordered no emmissionson on my set, but these happen to be ones with the air tubes. So he sent another set off to the coaters. I hope he has them back by now and hopefull they will be on their way to me. I'll let you guys know when he calls or send me a message.

Do you have a e-mail or phone for Dyno Don? I've had Hooker long tubes and AFR heads for years with the same port matching problem.I'm having a 400ci built now and I would love to fix the exhaust. I would also like to see where the collectors end up. Your car looks nice

How long did you have to wait? I'm going on about a month and I haven't heard any confirmation that my stuff was finished yet even though his son said my stuff was gonna ship last week

That was my only complaint about dealing with him. Sometimes he doesn't get back to you or he is waiting on tubing. Other than that I am super happy with his headers.

Re: Dyno Don Headers
Don has someone else mandrel bend the tubes, and that is the hold-up. Then Don assembles and welds them and sends them out for ceramic coating.
I dont know what the deal is with the PM's, but he does get a LOT of PM's from here and sometimes they get lost. If you dont hear back from him in a day then try email. When I see threads like this I let him know so he can respond.

Justin I apologize. He had two sets shipping out last week and I thought yours was one of them. I really have no idea what his schedule is as I only see him on Saturdays.

I dont know, for the price, or for a little bit more, you can buy long tubes from either jethot, hooker or dougs.

for people like me with a lowered car, long tubes are not an option. Dyno Don headers have shown to support a 550+ hp motor so they're perfect for me!

I am running 470 hp with a set of dyno dons headers and work wonderful and fit better than the crappy edelbrock's that I had on. If anyone is doubting the quality and look, don't be worried these are the nicest headers and y pipe I have ever seen.

Re: Dyno Don Headers
You can always send Dyno Don a PM or an email asking for info. If you use PM's be warned that he gets a LOT of PM's and some of them seem to be getting lost in the shuffle.
Or use the
feature for all posts in the Exhaust forum made by Dyno Don that include the word "headers". That will catch all posts made by Dyno Don about his headers.

Re: Dyno Don Headers
got my headers and y pipe today!
The headers look awesome! Very nice quality! One question though...where the primary is welded to the flange where it bolts to the head...why is it only welded on the top/bottom and not all the way around? Is it welded from the inside and then ground down?
Also the y pipe is VERY nice and is much bigger than my kinked up 2.25" I had before. One of the ends got a little squeezed in shipping so I cant slip the pipe in but I'll fix that when I install it.
Patience paid off...this is high quality stuff!! I'm hoping I can get to my spark plugs easier now too

Pictures...updates?
Debating now if I want to get a set of Dyno Dons headers or the Hooker 2055's, as its y-pipe is great, but I would need to have the tubes removed meaning more work.
Plus I have never seen the SLP style headers and wonder how they differ from the 2055's

Re: Dyno Don Headers
So not to start a new thread I have a question. How do these headers stack against the 2055's? Also, can I get a set in a D port style? I want to get a set when I do my LT1 swap.

Re: Dyno Don Headers
The biggest problem with the Hooker 2055's is the small collector outlet. Open that up and they're the best 1 5/8" headers out there.
Don's are 1 3/4" headers and they're raised .100" to work with d-port and all aftermarket heads with raised exhaust ports.

I do have the only 1 3/4" header option out there. (w/Y-pipe)
I made them to be the best there is.

Re: Dyno Don Headers
Just to quote off of Don's last post. They are the best out there. No true dyno numbers but my car feels so much stronger after installing his headers and boy are they sexy. Big giant tubes sitting in there with no ground clearance issues. Also the Y-Pipe pieces he sends to allow you to complete you install is simply amazing. Great work Don. If you building a hot 3rd gen to drive( no dragging the long tubes) then these are the only choice. Semper Fi

Re: Dyno Don Headers
long tubes you can do with a manual but your sacraficing alot of ground clearance. If you go with a good set of shorties ( dyno don ) then you dont have to worry about clearance, and your not sacraficing alot of HP. I use to have edelbrock on my old 305 which were garbage. Dyno Dons headers are just amazing and far more superior in performance

Re: Dyno Don Headers
I figured I'd try a set of Don's headers to see if they'll help any or not. The TES headers did fine with the 305 and would probably be fine with a stockish 350 - but I think they're a little too restrictive now that I've installed a 400 and the blower. Guess I'll see...

Re: Dyno Don Headers
I am waiting for mine, but I am pretty sure the price varies with what options you need. In all of my searching before I went with his, I have never seen anyone post what they paid so I wont either. What I will say is that they are not much more than say an aftermarket ceramic coated 1 5/8" header with Y pipe. At least with his headers you get 1 3/4" tubes, custom fit for our cars, and a awesome Y pipe that exits in 3".

I second everyones comments about these headers - they are very high quality - the best there is. You can also order Dyno Don headers from Top Down Solutions - they are great to work with.
