where and how much to cut on a-arm bracket?

where and how much to cut on a-arm bracket?

well like the title says, i installed hedman longtubes today and the hit on the a-arm mounting bracket. my question is, how much can i trim off before it is a problem?

you can trim as much as you need to get the headers to fit, i did, and there is no problem, its not really a structural part of the a-arm anyways

I hardly cut mine at all when I installed my long tubes. I remember grinding a good bit on the bracket but never cut it.

I got tired of pulling my headers in and out to keep removing more material, so cut off the corner and welded a plate in diagonally. As long as there is enough room for the bottom of the A arm to pivot, and you enclose it again so it isn't weakened too much, taking some off makes on difference. Really, I have no idea why GM made them so large to begin with, probably for ease of construction.

well i got them on, didnt cut too much, i did grind some off. more clearance now then there was now. wow, just longtube headers is loud!!! before i had shorties and a y-pipe and this is sooo much louder then that.
