305 with Magnaflow?

Does anyone have a sound clip of a 305 TBI with a Magnaflow system? I'm leaning towards them but am worried it be too quite and not noticeable enough over stock. However, too many people complain that Flowmaster gets annoying on the highway. Thoughts? Thanks for the help.

Re: 305 with Magnaflow?

well i was in the same boat as you, but i wanted magnaflow for the stainless. But for the muffler that we need for our cars it is reallyyyy expensive to buy a maganflow muffler. I forget the price but it was high! So i went with flowmaster

Re: 305 with Magnaflow?

I have the magnaflow on my 305 now. It's quiet at idle almost like stock. You can hardly hear it. If your're at WOT then it comes to life, but how many times are you really going to be at WOT? I think you will want something more louder maybe a spintech muffler they are about 140.00 and so is the magnaflow muffler from summit. I'm sure the magnaflow muffler would sound great if I had more engine mods, but for a stock 305 it's going to be quiet. People say the more you drive your car the more the magnaflow will break in and get louder. It's not that loud ,but it does flow very good.

Re: 305 with Magnaflow?

I have the 16829 Kit made for our 3rd Gen cars (not the old 4th gen swapped magnaflow kit).

I don't buy for sound, I bought for quality and performance, in which I have read and heard so many tests on Magnaflow mufflers flowing higher than most mufflers including straight through designs over their turbo designs. But that's just me.

But look into the tips as they are 3.5" and most people think that's to big. I think its perfect.

Re: 305 with Magnaflow?

if he wants a mag he can go here http://www.performancepeddler.com/de...FQIfswodmxKSLw and they will let him bid for one. make it a really low price and they will come back with about 315.00 or something like that. or he can go here http://banditexhaust.com/catalog/adv...16829&x=11&y=8 and hit the make an offer button and they will come in low too.
i was going to order one but i decided to make a change in the way i want to do it - but maybe i will change my mind again - heads and catback is all i have left to do.

does anyone know of a long skinny tube muffler that i can run down the passage by the drive shaft?

Re: 305 with Magnaflow?

I have a Magnaflow on my stock tbi and hate it. It's super quiet. I'm thinkin of throwing on an 80 series Flowmaster but keeping the rest of the piping Magnaflow. Any thoughts on what that might sound like?

Re: 305 with Magnaflow?

I have a set on a 454 1-ton truck, so i can't say what they'll sound like on a 350. On the 454 they are moderately quite at idle, louder than magnaflows quieter than flowmaster 80s, and at WOT they sound awsome

DO NOT HIJACK THREADS. Especially if it is in no way related to the OP's topic.

Here is a great video of Magnaflow and how loud it can be with a STOCK 305 TBI with a Magnaflow Spun Metallic catalytic converter.
