Looking for header advice!!

I have a pretty much stock 350 with a HSR for now will be goin with a 383 down the road.I was thinking of going with a set of headers? What header should i go with?I want a good fitting header that wont be a nightmare to install and give the most power? I think im going to stay away from shorty style? I have done the shorty headers before and really not happy with any of them so far. What do you think??

Any good-fitting long-tube header will be a nightmare to install. It's one of those "sacrificial rite" things...

I'm not going to be the one that told you to install headers and ruined your life, but a lot of people run the Hooker 2210 ($500).
(And then there's sending them out to be powdercoated; having to build a complete exhaust system what will work with them; getting a different wife that can tolerate a constant stream of obscenities and being broke all the time; the usual...)
Or you can buy a cheaper set (like me) that have even more bad consequences...
Oh either way, installing them will cost you your religion.
If you do, use long bolts and loctite them. This will keep you out of the mental institution.

aww cmon its not that bad. all the 3rd gen engine compartments combined have probably harvested several tons of knuckle skin when added up, but what is gain without sacrifice?

Exactly. Hence the reason for my use of the term "sacrificial rite" in my first reply.
Or he could just find a random person and hand them $2000.
Both will leave you feeling the same. Immense satisfaction, very happy and missing 2-grand.

2055 are the good Hooker shorties that have a matching Y-pipe.
