Re: hedman headers 68460

I would just go with a simple true dual exhaust system. If you want to do a Y pipe and your doing it yourself. All you need to do is pick a good spot to cross over to other pipe at a spot that will not get in the way of any maintanane that you might have to perform down the road. cut a whole in the side of the ppipe and weld the Y pipe into it. Its strait forward but i would rather run duals.

I'm using 68460 on the V6/350 swap on this 1990 RS. I plan to try to run a couple of cherry bomb type mufflers, because they are smaller. Hope it don't sound like crap!

There are ground clearance issues with long tubes, not necessarily with dual exhaust.

Im gonna be using these headers pretty soon and the Y pipe i decided to go with was the stainless works 93-97 camaro 3" Y pipe.Im gonna need to use a new tranny cross member but it should work with minor mods to the pipes and sutch.

You could have dual exhaust mounted to the 68470 exhaust. Even though they also sell a y pipe for 68470, you don't have to. The will basically be a shorty header.

As for me, I ended up finding an 89 Iroc the other day! 406 Chevy small block, headers, posi, built 700R4, the motor has Victor Jr intake, Dart 2.02 heads, it's the fastest car I've ever had, my other Camaro only ran 14.3 in the quarter. Anyways, my Iroc has a 3inch y pipe connected to the headers, right now it's leaking at the collector/ypipe. I'll fix it soon and post a video. Love this car, paid less than 2 grand do you believe that!

Re: hedman headers 68460

i have hedman longtubes on my car. and i currently run a true dual set up on mine. i have it installed with two Bullet type mufflers from SLP. i have great ground clearance with the SLP loudmouths compared to a regular style muffler. a lot more ground clearance!!!! have scraped yet since i put them on my car over a year ago. I think maybe a very light kiss but thats about it.
