Would this header fit?

Im in the middle of dropping in a GM crate engine with vortec heads. Im not trying to put anything expensive on, but i do want to get rid of the rusted out stock headers the engine came with. These headers fit vortec heads which is what i need BUT im not sure if it will fit into my 91 camaro with out issues. What would you say to as fitment in the actual car? They look as if any other header for our cars but sonce ive never bought headers before i would know what to look for. All help is appreciated thanks. http://www.kmjent.com/cart/product.p...0164598&page=2

Re: Would this header fit?

They'd go right through the firewall.

Those are truck headers. Only thirdgen application-specific headers will fit.

Re: Would this header fit?

Will vortec headers called ENGINE HUGGERS work? There kind of like shortie headers. If you can help me heres the link to my engine https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...ng-engine.html would you be able to identify if i have angle plug heads or stright plug heads? That will help a lot

Again, only thirdgen application-specific headers will fit. You don't need "Vortec" headers, you need thirdgen headers.

Re: Would this header fit?

The heads being vortec doesnt affect which headers you need one bit. Just ignore the vortec-ness and buy headers for your year of car with the normal v8. They're the same.

D ports are something else entirely.

Re: Would this header fit?

Like he has mentioned over again. Only third gen specific headers. There is no difference header wise with the two different plug types, just that angle plugs make it easier to change the spark plugs and straight plugs sometimes require shorter body plugs so the wire boot doesn't touch the header.

JUST BUY 82-92 CAMARO/FIREBIRD SHORT TUBE HEADERS.(preferably that come with a y-pipe)

I've seen on this forum and others inquiries about those Chinese headers like those. The price is so attractive and you can also find them on ebay. Please let us know what was involved to get them to fit/not leak and how a y pipe was fashioned to fit. It might make for a good sticky. me, I took the cowards way and bought Hedman.
