Will these work???

I have a 91 camaro and my original engine was a 305 tpi. Im now doing a swap to a 350 carb'd engine but i still want my A/C. Everything seemed to bolt right onto the goodwrench engine, but what i had trouble figuring out was how the support brackets would still work. On the drivers side the support bracket is bolted into the STOCK header itself and im not going to use aftermarket hooker shorties. Do i need those brackets? They were NOT on the engine when i bought it, but there also wasnt a/c so im kind of stumped on this. Help would be appreciated, thanks. If you scroll down to the second batch of pictures you will see my engine in the car and the bracket on the right side sticking up

Re: Will these work???

a lot of times the bracket has to be modified a little bit. Sometimes they include a spacer and longer bolt with the headers for the bracket to work. Nothing like that included? Thier is no directions with your headers to tell you how to do it? You can find installation instructions online in .pdf format on most manufacturers websites. I'd look that up.

Re: Will these work???

Most folks when they switch to headers use a spacer available in the drawers at Home Depot in the fasteners section - it's metal tube looking thing (has to be metal due to the heat), about a 3/8 hole in it, about 2 inches long, and just grab a longer bolt - put header on, then spacer, then A/C brace, then run the longer bolt through all into the head.

Same for the extra Alternator brace.

Re: Will these work???

How about the bracket going to the alternator? Do the bolts actually screw into the head? Or does the header have its own part where the bracket screws into?

Re: Will these work???

That really helped give me an image what everyones talking about. So just to ask for these headers http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOK-2460HKR/ i can use them and all i would need is that spacer for the brackets to work?

Yep. You do also know you'll need a Y-pipe as well right?

Re: Will these work???

Yea i know that. I will do true duals after i have the engine in and running. So you said to use about a 3/8 hole in it and about 2 inches long, do you know how long the bolt should be and im guessing 3/8?
