if its a stockish engine, it will be fine. if its a 305lg4 like your name implies, you will be fine.

yup. but if you plan to do a ton of upgrades then you might want to go 3 inch now instead of spending money to only spend more later...just a thought.

right now dynomax has a $75 rebate. You can in essence get a complete system shipped to you door for anywhere from $120-$140 post rebate. You have nothing to lose at those prices

If you know anyone who has a stock system you shoudl tell them about this deal. heck, if it rusts in 3-4 years who cares?

This is true. Normally I do not recommend the Dynomax setup (but the tailpipes are useful for a stock look), but for that price it's not a bad idea for a stock motor. However, since the intermediate pipe is a single piece, you need a lift to install it.

I've read where you need a lift before but I just did my 87 on ramps/jack stands. I was replacing the panhard bar at the same time and did have to remove the brace as well (as I remember) to get it in, but once those things are out of the way it slips right in. I did have the jack stands positioned so that the rear was hanging down as well. With just a couple bolts removed it's a piece of cake. And you can't beat that rebate.

Re: is 2.5in. enough?

I like dynomax. But is it an ultraflo kit or super turbo kit?

No it is not large enough for a 305ci V8 engine...

Re: is 2.5in. enough?

Not to threadjack, but I just found a 2.5" exhaust behind my 305 TPI. I never bothered to check before because I assumed the exhaust suited the headers. But the Y pipe is 2.5" inside diameter, and the cat back is 2.5" outside. Am I getting choked?
