Modular cutout and cat setup in place of stock cat.
Hey guys, just wanted to share my latest project.
I have decided to replace my catco stock replacement cat with a modern spun metal cat and exhaust cutout in the same location. It will consist of:
Mac "test" pipe - 48792
DMH cutout - 2030sf
Magnaflow cat - 99659HM
Race Ready swivel turn down - 815-STSS300
The test pipe will be cut up and the pieces welded in. There will not be much of the test pipe left when I'm done. Pretty much just the ends. It is a tight fit. Then I will have it ceramic coated. This setup looks like it will fit very well in the car. With the turn down fitting nicely at the end of the bump in the floor pan.

Re: Modular cutout and cat setup in place of stock cat.
Mac "test" pipe - 48792 - $75
DMH cutout - 2030sf - $200
Magnaflow cat - 99659HM - $120
Race Ready swivel turn down - 815-STSS300 - $45
Total - $440 + welding
You could easily save a lot of money buy cutting up a stock cat for the ends rather buying the Mac test pipe. This is what I would have done had I known I would be using so little of the test pipe. You could also use a much cheaper turn down. Easy to save $100 right there.
