X-Pipe comparison

Has anybody ever compared X-pipes according to the shape because, if it alters the flow, won't it alter performance?Here are a couple diff shape I have seen, I would like to know which one is best before I buy one.

basically, air doesnt like corners. you want the turns as gentle as possible. this goes for x-pipes as well.

this is a sample of what the NASCAR boys run... they put a lot of thought into this stuff and use what works..

the nascar pipes are made so that the 2 sides are open to each other but the indicidual diameters are hardly reduced, unlike most of what you see for sale.

Here's what I built for a corvette, same principle.

Dont like the 3rd one looks like youre losing area.

Put on what fits and you can afford you will never see a difference in power with any of them, or without one altogether.


I only put one on mine to kill off any high pitched exhaust noise which it does

Other than that I dont like them, one more thing to get in the way when dropping the Dshaft or trans.

Any more thought than $ or looks is a waste of your time.

an X pipe will usually show an increase in power across the rpm band, and are easily removed for trans access by simply using a couple of band clamps after the X to hold things together.
