Custom Dual Y pipe Pics inside

Made this for a friend yesterday. It is my FIRST attempt at a high performance Y pipe so be gentle . What do you guys think? Seemed to really wake up his 350. He had the flowtec headers and Y ppe before now it is this and Hooker 2460

The pipe is all 2.5" mandrel with a 2.5 to 3" scavenger at the end.

Thanks, it was a ton of effort but it was worth the time. With getting stuff used and looking for deals we did the entire project form the engine to the exhaust tips for about $400.

Re: Custom Dual Y pipe Pics inside

Thanks guys I was really pleased with it. My only complaint is I had to put it on someone else car. I am still amazed at the power gain over his old crappy system with flowtek headers and Y pipe.

Parts list

1. 6 @ 2.5" 90 degree bends
2. 2 @ 2.5" 45 degree bends
3. 1 @ 3" 45 degree bends
4. 5 @ 2.5" to 2.5" couplers.
5. Flowmaster Y250300 Collector

Re: Custom Dual Y pipe Pics inside

That is some good work..
I am both surprised and pleased to see that it wasnt a pair of 3" into a single 3" intermediate.
what you have put together there is well capable of 400ish hp. and have OE type ground clearance.
WELL DONE

Thanks, ground clearance was a big consideration.

Here is what the final result achieved

Re: Custom Dual Y pipe Pics inside

Very nice.
So you did 2.5 dual pipes in a 3 inch Y and then 3 inch single inlet muffler and 2.5 dual outlets ?

Re: Custom Dual Y pipe Pics inside

We got this catback used for $100

17233

http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/?p...ust%20Kits&kw=

We cut off the 2.5" pipe reducer at the end and went 3" the entire way back and added our own flange.

Personally I like the magnaflow sound of mine better but you could not argue with the price. His sounds like a freaken beast now when you open in up
