I'm sure it's been done. But why bother with shorty style if you are going to true duals? True duals won't leave much ground clearance on these cars...and if you are going to sacrifice ground clearance for that you may as well go with the better flowing long tubes.

I had true 2.5" duals on my car when I bought it. They were run the same route as a single with no ground clearance issues. Car was driven in rural WV on rutted "holler" roads regularly. Stock ride height and tire size. The shop I worked at did dozens of these back in the day.

The reason to run shorties and duals if if you have an Auto car, long tubes and the way they need to be routed won't fit with stock ride-height.
