This car also has a full Corvette suspension, the exhaust will run the length of the transmission tunnel along the driveshaft, under the differential, and exit the center below the license plate. I want to redesign the rear bumper with a diffuser, but thats for another thread.
I added a muffler to the system for a total of three. It is noticeably less raspy and a bit quieter, but still has a nice rumble. I havent driven it yet, just idling in the garage, so I cant comment on the drone level at this time. Overall it is an improvement over what it was prior to the new muffler. It fits perfectly in the center bay of the rear diffuser, so its barely noticeable visually.
looks like a precise installation. Curious, what's the ground clearance from the lowest point (perhaps as it goes under the rear differential?)
I crawled under the car to take some measurements for you. The lowest point of the entire system is 5 cm at the forward V-band clamps and 7 cm under the differential and the new muffler body. The V-bands show some signs of slight scraping, nothing major due to the suspension having only 25 mm of compression while driving. So far the muffler shows no signs of damage. The added muffler makes driving the car much more enjoyable. If you are not running 600+ HP I would suggest not using 3 dual exhaust. The Holley 6.5 cm true dual system is far more civil and will support 500 HP.
Ty. I cant see me having more than 400hp in the near term. Curious about the vette rear suspension but here in Greater London anything less than 10cm of ground clearance risks scraping

Installing a C4 IRS in a 3rd gen F-body has been done several times and is not that difficult compared to the SLA front suspension, but it is a bit more of a commitment than a curiousity. As far as ground clearance under the differential, remember that it will remain constant at the point of the wheels traveling over the same object (i.e. a speed hump). For example, I have 76 mm of clearance on level ground and I will still have 76 mm of clearance as the tyres roll over the obstruction. A 63 mm exhaust system and 10 mm of additional ride height would give the 10 cm of ground clearance that you desire. I have a thread on this forum that covers the installation of the "Corvette suspension" in our cars if you are intrested in seeing what is involved (the wheel tubs are optional). You can PM me here anytime if you please.
Cheers
