HP estimate on SLP ceramic coated headers?
HP estimate on SLP ceramic coated headers?
Guys-
What kind of horsepower increase can I expect from adding SLP ceramic coated headers to my current setup (refer to my sig) ?
Thanks

not sure, but i am going to dyno my car BEFORE i put mine on, then again some time after, so i wont have an imediate answer, but eventualy. but usualy they will give u a little more high end 0-HP (10-20) depending on flow and mods etc. u got\getting 1 5\8" right?

If u want to get even more out of them, I suggest getting an adjustable fuel pressure regulator if u do not already have one. I just hear they wake up most cars after full exhaust systems have been added. I am putting mine on soon. So I will be able to back up this theory this spring.

Yeah, getting my car dynoed prior to the header install would be a good idea, so I could compare afterwards. I don't even know how much horsepower / torque my car is pumping out right now to be honest...
I still haven't decided which size headers to go with... someone said I should go with 1 3/4 incase I ever want to swap in a bigger engine (which I don't plan on doing). I'm most likely gonna just go with the 1 5/8s ceramics.
I've already got a set of K&Ns, w/ gutted air box, and high flow catback... so the headers will complete my exhaust. I am hoping I get at least 20 HP out of it... after all, it's a $800 upgrade and I'd like to feel/see/hear some results...

Thanks for the tip on the fuel regulator, as I want to get max performance out of these new headers!
I see you live in Davison, MI? I'll be visiting a girlfriend who lives there this spring... I won't have my car, but maybe we could meet up and look at yours? It would give me somethin to do!

10-20hp?! That's it?!
I thought they'd be good for a solid 20-25hp increase, especially on a 305cid engine... with the ceramic coating...
Maybe I was a little optimistic... well, either way I'll notice a nice difference in performance, at least I hope... for $600...

I will be very interested in your findings during the Dyno and after the headers.. since our cars are very similar. My Dyno numbers are below and were consistent.. but my tq converter was locking up weirdly and that was before i switched to K&N filters.. I had Jamex filters.

If I get 3/10s with my SLP 1 3/4s I just added it will have been money well spent. Realistically Im looking at a 1-2 tenths, anything less than a 1/10 or no gain and Ill be looking into their performance gaurantee that they offer. After reading this post I cant wait to March 2nd for the track to open and to see where Im at....
