Hooker Cat-back

16820 - 305 Non HO(H&E)
16822 - 305 (G,F&7)
16823 - 305 HO TPI(G,F&8)

Now, is there any real difference between these? I mean PN 16822 is $200, and the rest are $260. Whats up with that?
The only thing I could think of is if its for the dual cat setup, but that was only on the later 305's (tpi).

The non-HO kits neck down to bolt up to the ultra-wimpy little cat that come on the v6 and TBI cars.

I looked on Hooker's site and they say that the 16823 "does not fit dual catalytic equipped cars". It doesn't say that about the others, but I don't think the cars their supposed to go on had dual cats.

To add on to the questions, if that Catback won't fit on the dual cat cars, do they have one that does? If they do what is the P/N on it?

Thanks,
David

They dont have one listed on their site, but I suppose that you could call them...
Also, Mark, how much did it cost you to have a shop weld it up nice for you?

16820 Hooker cat back, is this a direct bolt on? No welding required?

Thanks

The guy quoted me $100. This was after he said, I don't feel like doing it today, but I had to go thru emissions before I left for college. Ended up charging me $160, which was steep. He did a very good job though.

RS91, PN# 16820 IS a direct bolt on for the TBI LO3's. It is the same as the 16823 but the neck is tapered down to fit the 2.5" cat, the rest of the I-pipe is a full 3". I have this system on my 91 and love it.

I think you guys are getting ripped off for install. Mine was $80 but that was to put on a cat, and the whole cat-back. Also, I asked him about a header install and he said $120. Is that alot? I don't think I'll be able to pull my headers cause my whole exhaust is welded together. I really wanted to do it myself too. Oh well. Also, is there a proven difference in actual hp between Edelbrock TES, and the SLP's. I've heard the SLP's are better, but are they worth the $100 extra. Thanks

I know I was ripped off. Wow, $120 for header install, that's really cheap.
