Great firebird idea, check it out!
You know one of those flicker/candle lights!?! I was thinking of making a see through firebird emblem by masking the bird and painting everything around it. Than hook up the flicker light behind it. That way it would look like the bird is flaming (not the gay way). It would be a cool thing to do if the alarm is armed instead of the little red dot. Its going to be on the pass side dash (the useless part). I already have a good plexiglass piece and I can draw really good (used to draw comic books localy here). What do you guys think????

I think that sounds really good, you plan on keeping the blinky anti theft light though I hope. The idea is similar to what some have done with LED lights on the center tail light area.

extremely cool! I don't think i've seen those before, "flaming light", but I can imagine it!
Probably want to cover the plexi in masking tape, then draw on your outline. Use a fine razor knife, and cut that. Peel off the tape outside, then paint it. Then remove the inner tape. Probably want the light behind the painted part, that way you get the illusion of the fire, but you aren't just looking at a lightbulb.

Actually, I am still kinda stumped of what light to use? I am thinking of just using the normal flicker house light and hard wire it to the car.
Also, i am thinking of making an enclosure behind the bird, just like our tail lights.
If you guys know of any flickering/fire imitating lights that are made for cars, let me know.

Oh, I forgot. I am making few designs of the bird, and I'll post it here for you to vote on.
See which one makes the best flaming bird.

I am selling the car, so I haven't made any progress yet. However, since there are few interested I might as well finish the project. I'll do it saturday. Expect pics soon.

I can't wait to see it. I'm sure you can get some sort of "flame/led" light on ebay...

Well back in '06 Im sure they did'nt have these but they have those battery operated fake flickering "candles" now, the ones that release a scent and look like a candle but are just a flickering light. I cant think off hand who makes them but Im sure I'll see the commercial sometime soon.
Its made by Glade.
