I am trying to decide if I have the ability to cut out and replace my floor pans. I know i have seen posts where people have detailed the process but i just cannot find the one i am looking for.

Can anyone give me a step by step from cutting out to replacing. Pics would be a great help if possible.

Also one of my seat rails is badly infected and i need ideas for fixing this problem as well.

I think i can do it from what i have seen but do not want to attempt w/o all the neccessary info.

Keep in mind, how difficult or easy it will be will depend on your skills, tools available and if you allot yourself enough timeframe to do a good job. It may look easy when someone else does a write up. I did it 'twice' myself. First time I was in a hurry and wanted to get it done before work Monday and it showed in the results. Later, I cut that one back out and did it right.

As rhamm said, take your time and do it right the first time. I would suggest assembling everything before you start: saw blades, spotweld cutters, mig welder and on and on. Just a guess from your screen name, if it's a convertible you have alot more prep than a hard top does. My first floor replacement was on a VW 'vert and I learned a few things the hard way. You need to brace everything before you start cutting out any of the pan or when you finish your doors won't close and your top will not seal.

So wat happen to it. I want to see some pics because the links dont work. I have found some really bad rust on my pans and they need to be fixed ASAP but its not an emergency. like I need to do it now
