9" or 12 bolt swap info needed

I'm looking for the thread that has all of the 9" and/or 12 bolt diff swap info. The 7.5 probably won't live long behind the motor I'm building. Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks

Buy aftermarket bolt in 9" or 12 bolt. Take out 7.5" diff, install new diff.

I run a 9" in my 86 Camaro... I deleted the torque arm and use the South Side Machiene lift bars along with no stock lower control arms and QA1 coil overs behind the axel. Works for me

Ditto on going aftermarket. I picked up a 9", cut all the brackets off, cut the factory ones off and transfered the F-Body brackets to the 9". Took forever, you have to be careful welding. Not to mention making a bracket for the torque arm unless you go with ladder bars or something of the sort. Take it from me. It will cost about the same in the end. I've had to get adjustable control arms and torque arm to account for the slight differences in all the brackets.

What about driveshafts/u-joints with the aftermarket rears? 9 inch, 12 bolt....

You buy adapter u-joints to convert the GM 3R u-joint to a 1310, 1330 or 1350 that the 12 bolt or 9" will use.

Re: 9" or 12 bolt swap info needed

Thanks! Will the length stay the driveshaft length stay the same? The reason that I ask is that I have a thirdgen aluminum driveshaft and a fourthgen aluminum shaft that I can use.....

What's a diff swap and u-joints got to do with drag racing? It would have fit better in the Transmission and Drivetrain board.

YUCK!! If your spending the money on a 9" or 12 bolt. Spend the extra cash on a custom driveshaft and 1350 u-joints. You will not break anything then!

well your hood pics would have done better on the body board

Just stating that I already answered the u-joint questions and diff swap questions as the 9" is mainly drag related also.
