Formula hood cold air setup idea

First a question about a part, I found a air box that mounted to the cowl of the formula hood. think it was a v6 car. Also has a vaccum valve that opens it. Anyone know what year? I also thought about making a cold air intake for my formula out of this. Has anyone done such a thing? Any help or ideas would be cool. Thanks

Re: Formula hood cold air setup idea

you have a 82-84 Trans Am part.
Is the opening on the part a circle (carbed motor) or diamond (crossfire motor) shape?

Has the circles. Its a complete setup off the hood. Thanks for the info, not sure if its worth my time to fab something for my 5.7 or if someone has even attempted this.

Maybe should have read a little better, Did you mean the screen or the part off the motor? Screen has circles. Will have to check the motor part tonight.

Re: Formula hood cold air setup idea

I have one on my car. The opening is really, really small. In my opinion, it's not worth it.
