Buddys 4th gen cold air kit

He had all the piping and PVC already made and has a plate where these pipes fasten onto. Supposed to gain a couple mph in the 1/4

(had to cut the radiator support to fit the piping)

Re: Buddys 4th gen cold air kit

And how are you going to do that to your third gen? This isn't a fourth gen forum.

I think he's just showing everyone that you yourself can fabricate something cool vs purchasing it.
I like it.

third and fourth gen both have the same principal of air box and has the 2 inserts from the grill. This can EASILY be done on a third gen and it gets the idea out there for maybe some improvements. Almost everything can be swapped from fourth to third gen so that's probably the coolest post from a moderator I've seen. Congrats

I Realized that too but i mean if a car has fog lights it's not getting too much better airflow I guess.. A bunch of people have done this but not with piping, they used dryer hose. Just going to take some driving to see how it works

Re: Buddys 4th gen cold air kit

lets hope he dosent have to drive it in the rain.. i would recomend drilling some holes int he very bottom of the pipes that are in by the grill.. just to let any water that gets in there out..

Re: Buddys 4th gen cold air kit

This is mainly a drag car. Has big Hoosier dot slicks and skinned in front.. Won't see much rain at all but I do think thats a good idea if there would happen to be water sitting there

I am not talking about the inlet..more so about the pipes infront of the radiator !!!!

There's no a/c condenser so that helps, and there's still a lot of room where air can flow through radiator

Re: Buddys 4th gen cold air kit

If it maintains the same water temp as before with this cold air kit in it I don't think the pipes are effecting air flow to the radiator too much
